With the benefit of no ties to any brewery, the Star enjoys a variety of good lagers, real ales, Guinness and ciders.
 

The food is traditional pub grub, with a small managable menu ranging from Shepherds Pie, Lasagne, Bangers and Mash to Chilli con carne and Curry. Hot bar snacks, such as toasted sandwiches and Jacket Potatoes with fillings are available for those on the run.

The famous huge 'Star Inn Full English' is included in any booking and would normally negate the need for lunch, although alternative choices are available.
The locals are nearly as friendly as the staff and the small bar area provides a great place for discussion with many world problems having been solved therein. The TV in the bar shows only news channels or sport.
